The Plans and Liaison Unit (PLU) is responsible of the dissemination of policies and directives of the United Nation Security Management System, the development and implementation of security operational procedures, security plans and security assessments, and the update and standardization of security guidelines. Training and Compliance Unit (UFC)

The UFC is responsible for the transfer of knowledge through training in various topics related to risk prevention and mitigation measures of the UNSMS in Colombia, provides security workshops for field missions (SSAFE), Security Risk Management (SRM), among others. The objective of these workshops is to minimize the risks for the personnel and their dependents, assets and programs of the UNSMS in Colombia. Security Information Coordination Unit (SICU)

SICU aims to provide an efficient evaluation and Security Risk Management for all the UNSMS in Colombia. It elaborates Security Briefings, presentations and reports related to threat assessments based on objective analysis originated from the collation and effective information management. Currently, SICU also works as a reference for information and technical support to the Country Team and the United Nation Verification Mission in Colombia (UNVMC).

Stress Counseling Unit (UCE)

Communications Unit (CU)

Since 2004, the Communications Unit implemented the VHF and VH communication networks. The unit offers technical support to the UNSMS in Colombia through the installation and technical maintenance of communications equipment in order to provide permanent contact and support for personnel deployed in missions throughout the national territory.
